Irmscher i 2000 – Rebirth of a legend

Exactly 45 years ago in September, a much sought-after Irmscher special model was presented in collaboration with Adam Opel AG - the Irmscher Opel Ascona i 2000 was a special model with the latest technology and served as a base model for motorsport. The vehicle was visually distinguished by its yellow/white colour scheme and its front and rear spoilers. In addition to the internally ventilated brakes, it also had a twin carburettor system.

The chassis and wheels were also revised. Irmscher rebuilt a model of this very successful special of this very successful special model and takes part in numerous classic and charity events. Based on this special model, the Remshalden-based company is now presenting a newly developed Irmscher Opel Astra i 2000. Naturally, the special model will also go on sale in the yellow/white colour scheme.

The first glance at the front already reveals the clear differentiation - the deep-drawn front apron lip and the air intake emphasise the individual appearance of this new vehicle. At the side, there are dynamically integrated side skirts that extend over the entire lower side area and create a new look for the side view. The lines of the side skirts merge seamlessly into the rear apron. The striking diffuser emphasises the sporting ambitions of the Opel Astra with this body kit. An expressive roof spoiler adorns the tailgate and dynamically extends it upwards. The sporty stickers emphasise not only the design lines but also the ambitions of the road sports car.

The newly designed Irmscher wheel generation goes by the name of ‘Hydra Star’ and is available in the exclusive version (diamond-polished surfaces) and in black in 20-inch format.

The wheel/tyre combination contributes to the sporty driving behaviour, as does the lowering (approx. 25 mm). As an option, Irmscher offers the Irmscher ‘High Star’ wheel generation in 19-inch.

The interior also features extensive modifications such as stainless steel door sill trims, high-quality velour carpets and practical centre consoles.
